SEJONG, Oct. 25 (Yonhap) — Hundreds of Korean traditional dishes, beverages and desserts will be displayed in the heart of Seoul this week to offer fresh opportunities to enjoy healthy, nutritious food to urban people and foreign tourists, the organizer said Tuesday.

The Korean Food Day Festival will take place at Gwanghwamun Plaza in downtown Seoul on Wednesday and Thursday, with a variety of cultural and entertainment events, according to the state-run Korean Food Foundation.

The two-day event will include a performance to cook a huge bowl of “bibimbap,” a traditional Korean dish of rice and vegetables, which will be served to visitors and foreigners.

There will be an exhibition on a variety of Korean food, ranging from royal court cuisine to temple dishes, while tourists can participate in rice cake-making events.

Cooking competitions, a fashion show of Korean food chefs and a job fair will be also held simultaneously at the venue, said the foundation.
