If you loved Netflix’s Squid Game, you probably remember the tense honeycomb candy challenge. This Squid Game honeycomb candy—also called dalgona—is a sweet and simple Korean street snack made with only sugar and baking soda. With just a few steps, you can recreate this viral treat at home and even test your skills cutting out shapes just like in the show.
Also known as dalgona, this candy has been popular in Korea for decades. It was often sold outside schools, where kids would try to carve shapes out of the candy without breaking it. To learn more about the history of dalgona, check out this article from the Biscuit People.
