A celebration of Korean heritage, bold flavors, and the art of Sool!
Korean heritage met bold, modern flavors at SHIA Restaurant on October 20, 2026, as K-Food in US presented The Korean Sool Table with 2026 K-Food Ambassador Chef Edward Lee. Through food, cocktails, and traditional Korean sool, the evening told a story of roots, reinvention, and flavor.
Hosted by the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT America), the gathering welcomed culinary and industry professionals to discover the traditions, creativity, and cultural stories behind Korean food and sool. It also paid tribute to Chef Lee’s distinctive approach to Korean cuisine, which brings together cultural heritage, bold flavors, and modern culinary innovation in a style entirely his own.
The SHIA team served a menu of thoughtfully curated K-bites, each paired with K-cocktails created by mixologist Geoffrey Chang. His cocktails offered a fresh take on Korean flavors and traditional sool. Along the bar, a display of Korean wines and spirits gave guests a closer look at the variety and craftsmanship behind each bottle.
Chef Lee spent the evening among his guests, sharing the stories behind the dishes and drinks. The night felt less like a tasting and more like a table full of friends, with lively conversation, new introductions, and plenty of toasts.
Thank you to MAFRA, aT America, Chef Edward Lee, the SHIA team, our mixologist, our partners, and everyone who joined us for making this evening possible. Cheers to many more tables filled with Korean flavor, heritage, and good company!
