2018 K-Food Chef Contest

The 2018 K-Food Chef Contest will be held at Isabella Eatery at Tysons Galleria on Sunday, August 12th, 2018, from 3-6pm.

 

The purpose of this contest to highlight the increasing global popularity of Korean food and how chefs have innovated to make Korean ingredients an integral part of the American Culinary Landscape! The winner of the contest will receive an ALL-EXPENSES paid trip to Korea! #kfoodchefcontest

 

This event was sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Food Promotion Institute, the Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. Our partners included the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAWM), Isabella Eatery, Lotte Super Market, and Gimga Design Group.

 

Mike Isabella of Mike Isabella Concepts, Sery Kim, a well-known Food-and Travel Journalist,

and Scott Drewno, 2017 winner and chef/owner of CHIKO Restaurant.

 

 

We had a talented group of chefs lined up who competed in the contest;

Chef Angel Barreto from The Source by Wolfgang Puck, Chef Jesse Miller from Bar Pilar,

Chef Danni McGhee from DAM Good Vegan, and Chef Ellen Lee from the Daikaya Group.
